Doubledays Rack Up 2-1 Win Versus Brooklyn
|
Auburn pitcher Holden Alfonso did his part in helping his team defeat the Brooklyn Cyclones, 2-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Alfonso got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 5 hits and walked 0 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Yosef Maston locked down his 3rd save.
Case Kaiser, who leads the NYP in bases on balls with 13, aided the Auburn cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder was 1 for 4.
"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said Auburn skipper Carlos Renteria.
The Cyclones fall to 4-8 and continue their lackluster start to the 2062 season.
