Spikes Reel Off Another Win
The State College Spikes bumped off the Vermont Lake Monsters, 8-5, at Bowman Field. Jake Patterson hit 2 singles and 1 double. He also had 2 RBI. State College reliever Skip Washington was the winner. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Mason Cullen. To call the performance of the 2-11 Lake Monsters woeful so far is an understatement.

The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Patterson hit a 2-run double off Mason Cullen. It propelled the Spikes into the lead, 6-4.

"This team keeps finding a way to win," said State College manager Bobby Spencer.
