The Brooklyn Cyclones topped the Auburn Doubledays, 3-2, in New York-Penn League action at MCU Park. The standout performance belonged to Brooklyn pitcher and Barahona, Dominican Republic, native Juan Cruz. Brantley Schmidt came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. Gwynn Wilson locked down his 2nd save.

Mark Jenkins had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for Brooklyn. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Brooklyn in front, 3-1.

"If you ever get this game figured out," said Auburn manager Carlos Renteria, "let me know."

With the loss, Auburn is 7-7.
