Hunter Lapuerta left his imprint on the 5-2 Connecticut win against the Tri-City ValleyCats. Lapuerta, who is tied for 5th in the NYP in extra base hits with 7, was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Connecticut sits at 4-10 in the early going.

Connecticut used a clutch at-bat from Shepherd Cunningham to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Tigers ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Cunningham told the Connecticut Bulletin.
