Niagara Falls Defeats Lowell, 5-1
|
Niagara Falls starter Randy Bowman kept the Lowell offense from doing much damage. The right-hander leaned on his fastball in leading the Rapids to a 5-1 win. In 6.2 innings, Bowman surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed no runs. Lowell has now lost 5 straight.
Emmett Young dealt the Spinners a blow in the top of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and Niagara Falls leading 1-0, Young hit a 2-1 sinker for a run-scoring single.
"Randy pitched the ball pretty freaking great," said Niagara Falls manager Josh Reeder.
