Salem-Keizer Volcanoes starter Silviano Saenz pitched his team past the Connecticut Tigers, 5-1. Davis McCrystal recorded the save, his 1st. The win moves Salem-Keizer to a record of 4-4.
Doing his part for Salem-Keizer was left fielder Rex Hartzell, who stroked a double in the top of the first. For the game, Hartzell went 1 for 5 with a double.
"Silviano just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Salem-Keizer manager Ron Gabrielian.
