Lake Monsters Tag Pizza Rats with 4-1 Loss
|
Alexander Lowery pitched well, but his team, the Staten Island Pizza Rats, still dropped a 4-1 decision to the Vermont Lake Monsters at Centennial Field. Steve Standifer came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 4.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The Lake Monsters raised their record to 10-8.
Martin Caban chipped in a 2-run home run for Vermont in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"No time for posing," said Caban. "The next game will be here before you know it."
