Oilers Top Canucks, 12-3
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Abbotsford Canucks and Oil City Oilers get after it.
The Oil City Oilers beat the Abbotsford Canucks, 12-3. Oil City pitcher and Ottumwa, Iowa, native Mason Allen led the way. Allen picked up the win for Oil City, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1.
The Oilers got a big hit from left fielder Derek Ceccarini. In the bottom of the sixth, Ceccarini pounded a bases-clearing double to left-center. His 2nd double of the season put the Oilers ahead, 12-0.
"Nice to score a bunch of runs," said Allen after the game.
The Canucks drop to 5-5 and continue their mediocre start to the 2052 season.
