Jammers Suffer 7-6 Setback
|
The Spokane Indians topped the Jamestown Jammers, 7-6, in Northwest League action at Jammers Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Spokane pitcher and Windsor, Canada, native Thomas Shear. Shear got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 hit and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Shear allowed no runs. With the win, Spokane goes to 2-9.
Spokane used a well-timed hit by Mike Bennett to capture the win. The second baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Indians ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"It's a mindset," said Shear. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
