Canucks Win at Vermont, 5-0
|
Vermont got a decent performance from pitcher Colby Medina, but it wasn't enough to beat the Abbotsford Canucks. Abbotsford won the Centennial Field contest, 5-0. Medina threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Lyle Mills, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The win takes Abbotsford to 6-5.
Abbotsford used the clutch hitting of Grant Rucinski to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Canucks the lead, 4-0. For the game, Rucinski had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Rucinski.
