Black Bears Secure 3-0 Win
|
Getting offensive support from David De Los Santos, the West Virginia Black Bears topped the Tri-City ValleyCats, 3-0. De Los Santos was 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch for the Black Bears. Christian Stuart snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-0 on the season. Doug Matthews suffered the loss. Picking up his 4th save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Sean Anderson.
Tito Narvaez, who is tied for 8th in the NYP in triples with 1, had a direct impact on the outcome. Narvaez contributed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put West Virginia up, 2-0.
"Makes our job easier," said Narvaez, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
The third-place Black Bears sport a record of 14-11.
