Red Wings Hand Lowell 7-6 Loss
|
Gerardo Rivera propelled his team to victory over the Lowell Spinners. The final score was 7-6, Hamilton. Simon Harper earned the save for Hamilton, his 8th. The first-place Red Wings now have a record of 19-7.
Steve Cole had a big grand slam home run for the Red Wings in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Hamilton leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Lucas Nygaard and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Red Wings on top, 5-0.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Cole, "but we got it done."
