Spinners Suffer 3-1 Home Loss
|
Pitcher Andy Taylor was rock solid in helping the Spokane Indians beat the Lowell Spinners, 3-1. The winner in relief was Paul Moody. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Picking up the save was Rod Schofield, his 1st.
Spokane used the timely hitting of Israel Lentz to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Indians on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Lowell manager Danny Inglis. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
The win lifts Spokane to a record of 5-9.
