Close Win Moves Rapids to 7-7
|
The Niagara Falls Rapids topped the Yakima Valley Pippins, 4-3, in New York-Penn League action at Nat Bailey Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Niagara Falls pitcher Nicola Fontana. The loss drops Yakima Valley to 7-8.
Niagara Falls catcher Chris Raper helped the Rapids go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Raper hit a run-scoring single off Yakima Valley pitcher Roger Bell.
"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said Raper.
