The State College Spikes used a great performance from Lucas Sun, who leads the NYP with a 12.2 K/9 rate, to beat the Niagara Falls Rapids, 2-1, at Bowman Field. The second-place Spikes improved to 17-11.

Travis Shintomi helped out the State College cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the catcher drew 1 walk in 3 trips to the plate.

"Lucas was in tempo tonight," said State College skipper Bobby Spencer.
