The Eugene Emeralds beat the Atlantic City Jokers, 4-1. Eugene pitcher and Hollywood, Florida, native Noah Myers led the way. In 6 innings, Myers surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Joseph Barnes closed the game out for Eugene, earning his 2nd save.
Eugene shortstop Ronnie Hartman contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 17th hit of the season and put the Emeralds ahead, 3-0.
"We'll try to build on that win," Hartman told the Eugene Gazette.
With the win, Eugene has a record of 6-10. Atlantic City falls to 5-10.
