Flying Tigers Lay Egg, Lose 12-2 to Hamilton
|
The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
Martín Penaloza led Hamilton to a win over Medford. The final score was 12-2. Penaloza scored 2 times, while going 3 for 5. The right fielder also totaled 3 RBI. Hamilton reliever Iván Cintron picked up the win, raising his record to 1-1. Andy Knight was tagged with the loss.
In the bottom of the first, Hamilton third baseman Kyle Clubb had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and no one out, Clubb stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 3-0, Hamilton. For the game, he was 1-4 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"They took us to the woodshed," said Medford manager Jesus Cardone.
The Red Wings, at 4-12, sit in last place in the New York-Penn League North Division.
