In a low-scoring contest between the Oil City Oilers and the Brooklyn Cyclones, Max Parrish was the X factor. The Oil City right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Picking up the save was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Hansel Morrow. By defeating Brooklyn, the third-place Oilers improved to 19-14.

Benigno Capote cracked a home run off Rhys Jackson in the bottom of the eighth. His solo blast put the Oilers on top, 3-2. In all, Capote had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.

Capote called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
