Lake Monsters Top Gremlins, 3-1
|
Pitcher Thomas Shultz was sensational for the Vermont Lake Monsters in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Youngstown Gremlins. Shultz picked up the win, and it was well-earned. Paco Carvajal recorded the save, his 2nd. The Lake Monsters raised their record to 9-9.
Vermont used a well-timed hit by Mitchell Rutkowski to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Lake Monsters ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Shultz.
