Auburn catcher Lyle Mejia had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Tri-City ValleyCats, 10-7. Sergio Velarde snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 2.2 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. The Doubledays upped their record to 21-12.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Doubledays grabbed the lead when Mejia hit his 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Eleazar Espinosa made it 10-7, Auburn.

"We've got great fans," said Mejia. "I hope they got what they came for."
