Napoli Hits 2 home runs in ValleyCats Win
|
The Tri-City ValleyCats welcomed the Hamilton Red Wings to an afternoon game at Red Wings Ballpark.
Behind a solid performance from right fielder Timothy Napoli, the Tri-City ValleyCats defeated the Hamilton Red Wings, 6-4. Napoli was 3-5 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the ValleyCats. The win went to Hunter Helstrom in relief, making him now 1-2. David Cordero took the loss for Hamilton. Dan Harper closed the door for Tri-City, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Tri-City catcher Hudson Owens contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a slider to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 23rd hit of the season and put the ValleyCats ahead, 2-1.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Owens told the Tri-City Chronicle. "It's as simple as that."
The ValleyCats are now 20-13.
