The Hamilton Red Wings withstood a fine game by Oil City right fielder Owen Akey at Red Wings Ballpark, to upend the Oilers, 6-5. Akey was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Hamilton pitcher Joelson Sánchez got the win, upping his record to 6-0. Juan Escalera got the loss. Pablo Vega got credit for the save for Hamilton. It was his 12th of the year.

Noah Bélair was 1 for 4 for Hamilton. The 23-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off John Barrier. It was his 25th RBI of the season.

"I like how we're playing right now," said Bélair.

Hamilton has now reeled off 7 straight wins.
