Cavalry Edge Past Volcanoes, 7-6
|
The 7-6 New Westminster win over Salem-Keizer was due largely to Tyler Size. The Cavalry center fielder was 4-6 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Anthony Iles picked up the save, his 1st. The Cavalry raised their record to 4-14.
The most crucial at-bat for New Westminster came in the top of the ninth inning. That's when Size stroked a 2-0 fastball to center for a 2-run single, putting New Westminster up, 7-6.
"We got the victory," said Size. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
