Rubio Excels, But Flying Tigers Win
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Tri-City Dust Devils and Medford Flying Tigers get after it.
The Tri-City Dust Devils got a sterling performance from second baseman Carlos Rubio, but the Medford Flying Tigers still prevailed, 9-6. Rubio went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Fernando Valerio earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. Roger Ferguson recorded the save, his 4th.
D.J. Taylor had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fourth for Medford. With the bases loaded and the Flying Tigers leading 4-3, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Taylor.
Medford is now 11-6, Tri-City 8-9.
