Ash Rips 2 Home Runs in 10-7 Lake Monsters Triumph
|
Vermont and Youngstown got after it at Eastwood Field.
Getting offensive support from Hudson Ash, the Vermont Lake Monsters topped the Youngstown Gremlins, 10-7. Ash slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Lake Monsters. Matthias Van Dyke was the winner. He's now 2-1. The loser was Cesar Riley. Hedley Rapchak earned his 4th save, after closing out the game.
Vermont grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Ash hit a grand slam home run off Dylan Starnes. His 7th home run of the season put the Lake Monsters out in front, 5-1.
"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager Brandon Haviland.
With the victory, the Lake Monsters upped their record to 24-14.
