Pizza Rats Lose, 8-5, to New Westminster
|
The New Westminster Cavalry defeated the Staten Island Pizza Rats by the score of 8-5. Vincent Segona starred for New Westminster, going 2-for-4 with 1 home run. Kelly Moore earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Even with the win, the Cavalry have a dismal 6-14 record.
Segona had no bigger at-bat than in the top of the second when the 22-year old catcher hit a 3-run home run. The home run gave New Westminster the lead, 3-0. It was his 2nd home run of the season.
"Nice to get this one," said Segona. "Wins have been hard to come by."
