Spikes Send West Virginia Home with 4-2 Loss
|
The State College Spikes locked up a win at Bowman Field, knocking off the West Virginia Black Bears, 4-2. On the mound for State College was right-hander Harrison Hall. He played a major role in the triumph. Hall got the win, improving to 6-0. He gave up 7 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. State College now has a record of 23-13 with the win.
The Spikes got a big at-bat from center fielder Butch Seltzer. For the game, Seltzer went 1 for 1 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave State College a 2-0 lead.
"Glad to get this win," said Hall. "But we need to keep playing at a high level."
