Sea Unicorns Win 3-2 Walk-Off
|
The Gold Beach Sea Unicorns had to overcome a fine performance from West Virginia pitcher Jim Combs to grab a 3-2 win at Redding Grounds. Combs allowed 1 run over 7.1 innings. P.J. Young picked up the win in relief for Gold Beach, while Jonathan Milleville took the loss. The last-place Sea Unicorns improved to 5-14.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Gold Beach trailing 2-1, Aron Michon hit a cutter from Jonathan Milleville to right for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Sea Unicorns had a walk-off win.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said West Virginia skipper Scott Meissner.
