Spikes Keep Chugging, Win, 6-5
The State College Spikes topped the Tri-City ValleyCats by the score of 6-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to second baseman Toft Rigney. Rigney went 2 for 3 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Spikes on the day. The win was credited to Lovell Beeson in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Smiley Duquette took the loss. State College is now 17-4.

Rigney had a timely hit for State College in the bottom of the seventh. With Tri-City trailing 5-3, he turned a 0-1 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season, making it 6-5, State College.

"Winning breeds more winning, I guess," said Rigney.
