Doubledays Suffer 7-5 Setback
State College and Auburn duked it out and the Spikes came out victorious.

The State College Spikes topped the Auburn Doubledays, 7-5, with second baseman Tavon Oates playing a big role. Oates went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times for the Spikes in the win. The first-place Spikes have won 4 in a row.

State College took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 5-5, when Travis Shintomi hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Spikes in front, 6-5.

"We've got a great group of guys," Oates said, "and we're having fun right now."
