Oilers Pick Up 5-4 Win
|
Maine center fielder Ramon Araiza had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Araiza was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, even as Oil City beat the Lobsters, 5-4. Finley Wade got credit for the save for Oil City. It was his 6th of the year. The Oilers are now 18-28.
Brody Wagner had a big bases-clearing triple for the Oilers in the bottom of the second inning. With Oil City trailing 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a forkball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Noah Morin and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Oilers ahead, 3-1.
"Baseball is a funny game," said Wagner. "You've got to keep battling until things fall your way."
