Batavia Topples Niagara Falls, 4-1
|
The Batavia Muckdogs topped the Niagara Falls Rapids, 4-1, in New York-Penn League action at Dwyer Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Batavia pitcher Zach Redmond. Don Hamburg was credited with the save for Batavia, his 5th of the season. With the win over Niagara Falls, the Muckdogs improved to 19-24.
Dale Shinhav hit a 2-run triple off Mario Dunn in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Muckdogs in front, 3-1. Shinhav had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"I'm happy we won," said Redmond. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
