Childress Helps Doubledays Beat Rapids, 8-5
Falcon Park was the site for New York-Penn League action featuring the Niagara Falls Rapids and Auburn Doubledays.

The timely hitting of Lincoln Childress helped the Auburn Doubledays down the Niagara Falls Rapids, 8-5. Childress went 4-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Doubledays. Sergio Velarde, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 4.2 innings.

Ryan Britnell was 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI for Auburn. The 24-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Camron Sorby. It was his 16th RBI of the season.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Childress.

The triumph puts Auburn at 27-19 for the season.
