Black Bears Dispatch Indians, 10-3
|
The West Virginia Black Bears racked up a win at Avista Stadium, bumping off the Spokane Indians, 10-3. J.B. Jackson, who started for West Virginia, pitched effectively for his team. The triumph puts West Virginia at 14-9 for the season.
The Black Bears got an important contribution from shortstop Dakota Haviland, who in the top of the first hit a 2-1 fastball into center for a 2-run double. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Black Bears ahead, 2-0.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Haviland told the West Virginia Bulletin.
