Getting an impressive start from Brandan Ellis, West Virginia beat Tri-City by the score of 4-0. With the win, West Virginia upped its record to 30-19.
West Virginia took the lead, 2-0, on Luke Sigley's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Tri-City pitcher Eleazar Espinosa in the bottom of the eighth.
Afterward, Black Bears manager Jesus Sánchez said, "We had some good at-bats, some big at-bats in some key situations."
