Black Bears Pull Out Late Win, 7-6
Getting a good performance from shortstop Lee Austin, the West Virginia Black Bears defeated the Vermont Lake Monsters, 7-6. Austin was 3-5 with 3 singles for the Black Bears. The win belonged to Josue Pagen in relief. His record improves to 3-1. B.J. Minor took the loss for Vermont. With the win, the Black Bears have a record of 37-13.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With West Virginia trailing 6-5, Lee Szydlo hit a fastball from B.J. Minor to left for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Black Bears had a walk-off win.
