Red Wings Earn 4-3 Win Versus Tigers
|
The Hamilton Red Wings topped the Connecticut Tigers, 4-3, in New York-Penn League action at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Hamilton pitcher Swami Jakel. Richard Amico notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record now sits at 3-2. Hamilton, with the win, climbs to 7-18.
Daniel De La Cruz, the 21-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. De La Cruz contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Hamilton up, 4-3.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Jakel told the Hamilton Daily.
