The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes topped the Abbotsford Canucks by a score of 6-3. Leading the way was catcher Peter Yingst. Yingst went 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs for the Volcanoes. The Volcanoes move to 16-10 with the win, while the Canucks drop to 12-13.
With Salem-Keizer leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Yingst hit a 2-run single off Abbotsford hurler Dean Lee. It was the 3rd hit of the season for Yingst and put his team ahead, 4-0.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Yingst.
