Jokers Best Lake Monsters in Pitching Duel
|
The Atlantic City Jokers cut down the Vermont Lake Monsters by the score of 2-1, with the largest share of the credit going to catcher Ryan Petty. Petty was 2 for 4 with a home run for the Jokers. Nigel Freelove came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits in 3 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The save went to Ian Baker, number 2 for him.
The Jokers got a big at-bat from center fielder Tristan Hoti. For the game, Hoti went 1-4 with a double. In the top of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Atlantic City a 2-1 lead.
Hoti attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
After today's action, Atlantic City sits at 19-34, while Vermont falls to 31-22.
