Tigers Win, 5-3, in Extra Frames
|
The Connecticut Tigers beat the Tri-City ValleyCats, 5-3, in 11 innings at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. Connecticut left fielder Akinyele Talley had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. The ValleyCats have now dropped 5 straight.
Connecticut won the game in part because of Luís Brito. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Tigers ahead, 5-3. For the game, Brito had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Talley.
