Ironbirds Top Oil City, 3-2
|
Despite the exploits of designated hitter Colten Norquist, the Oil City Oilers were beaten by the Aberdeen Ironbirds, 3-2, in 10 innings. Norquist was 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. With the win, Aberdeen upped its record to 27-25.
J.D. Leese came through with a big-time hit for Aberdeen. The first baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Afterward, Ironbirds manager Alden Fuentes said, "We had some good at-bats, some big at-bats in some key situations."
