The skies opened up and the rain fell at Great American Ball Park.

The Oakland Athletics pinned a convincing loss on the Cincinnati Reds, 11-2, at Great American Ball Park. Jackson Ketron was a main factor in the win. He was 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for Oakland. Vincente Aldana got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Eldrick Lynott sewed up the save, his 1st.

Michelangelo White provided a timely hit. The Oakland left fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Athletics on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

Cincinnati manager Bill Ortiz called the blowout loss "nothing to write home about."

The defeat makes the Reds 8-13.
