Red Wings, Newman Pin Bad Loss on Rapids
The timely hitting of Matt Newman helped the Hamilton Red Wings down the Niagara Falls Rapids, 10-2. Newman was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for the Red Wings. The win was credited to Erich Thomas in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Sebastian Sweeney took the loss. Hamilton currently is in 8th place in the New York-Penn League North Division at 8-20.

Martín Penaloza had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fourth for Hamilton. With the bases loaded and the Red Wings leading 2-1, he hit a sacrifice fly.
