Cyclones Prevail, 9-7, Over West Virginia
|
Kyle Burns knocked in 4 runs to help Brooklyn beat West Virginia, 9-7. Burns produced 1 single and 1 home run. Riley Garczynski earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 2.2 innings. His record is now 2-1. Earning his 3rd save for Brooklyn was Noah Sellers.
Brooklyn used the bat of Micah Brown to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cyclones ahead, 8-5. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We try to keep the mood light around here," said Brown. "Winning helps."
With the win, Brooklyn raised its record to 16-12.
