Ryan Wen pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Connecticut Tigers, despite Wen's fine outing, dropped a 1-0 decision to the Niagara Falls Rapids at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. Eusebio Maez, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-2. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and no runs, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Niagara Falls is now 35-21. Connecticut is 28-28.

Rick Dempster had a direct impact on the outcome. Dempster contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Niagara Falls up, 1-0.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Niagara Falls manager Aiden Niemann said.
