Chiefs Reel-In 5-1 Win Over Tigers
|
The Wenatchee Chiefs topped the Connecticut Tigers, 5-1, in Northwest League action at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Wenatchee pitcher and Preston, Idaho, native Beckett Strosser. The win for the Chiefs raised their record to 21-9.
Christian Nugent, the 22-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Nugent contributed a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put Wenatchee up, 5-0.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Chiefs manager Aaron Lambert, "I like our chances."
