West Virginia beat Niagara Falls in a rain-soaked ballgame.

Brayden Reed, despite pitching well, was dismayed with the outcome: a hard-fought, 1-0 Niagara Falls Rapids defeat at the hands of the West Virginia Black Bears at Nat Bailey Stadium. Jasper Hite recorded the save for West Virginia, his 13th of the season.

Arron Martin had a direct impact on the outcome. Martin contributed a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put West Virginia up, 1-0.

"We found a way to win tonight," Martin said.

The third-place Black Bears lifted their record to 36-24.
