Pizza Rats Get 7-5 Win Versus Everett
|
Pizza Rats designated hitter Ryder Carrillo put his stamp on his team's 7-5 win over the Everett AquaSox. Carrillo threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball for Staten Island in the contest. Quillan Dore got the save, the 2nd for him this season. The Pizza Rats, now 13-17, know that wins in July count the same as wins in September.
Arnold Garofalo, the 21-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Garofalo contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Staten Island up, 3-2.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Carrillo, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
