In a low-scoring game between the Lowell Spinners and the Connecticut Tigers, pitcher Grant Yeakley was the difference-maker. The Lowell right-hander was tough as nails in the 2-1 Spinners win. The 8th-place Spinners now have a win-loss record of 24-38.

Lowell got a clutch hit from Cristopher García. The first baseman launched a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.

"On the outside I was calm," said Spinners manager Geoff Fitzsimmons. "But inside I was a nervous wreck."
