Jokers Curb Jammers, 5-2
|
The Atlantic City Jokers knocked off the Jamestown Jammers, 5-2, at Monongalia County Ballpark. Michael Fedyk was a big reason Atlantic City won. The right fielder went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. The win went to Kevin Poole in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Brett Didenko took the loss. Atlantic City has a record of 32-27, placing them 4th in the New York-Penn League South Division.
Colt Blalock had a big 2-run double for the Jokers in the bottom of the second inning. With Atlantic City leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from 21-year old left-handed pitcher Brett Didenko and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Jokers ahead, 3-0.
Atlantic City manager Jose Ornelas commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
