Flying Tigers Lose Late, 9-4
|
The Vermont Lake Monsters beat the Medford Flying Tigers, 9-4, at Centennial Field. The win was due in part to shortstop Edgard Castellanos, who was 1-1 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Vermont bumps their record to 14-16 with the win.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Jack Croson was at the plate when Vermont scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Lake Monsters to go in front, 5-4.
In postgame comments, Castellanos told the Vermont News: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
