Spinners Get Extra-Inning, 3-2 Win
|
In a low-scoring game between the Lowell Spinners and the Youngstown Gremlins, pitcher Miguel Guzman was the difference-maker. The Lowell right-hander was tough as nails in the 11 inning, 3-2 Spinners win. Lowell is now 34-25.
Batting in the bottom of the 11th, 22-year old center fielder John Miles had a real shot to win the game. Youngstown pitcher Id Terrell was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Miles hit a run-scoring single. The Spinners had a walk-off triumph.
"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Lowell field general Gabe Espinoza.
